Close to Nowhere – Ep. 72

Welcome to the next episode of Close to Nowhere. This week it’s packed with new music AND new artists who come from as far away as Scotland and as close to home as right here in Perth.
CAROLINE GILMOUR
There’s nothing like waking up to an email that’s introducing me to a new artist, especially when it comes from the otherside of the world. The icing on the cake is when the new artist turns out to be a fantastic one! Caroline Gilmour is one of those artists.
She has a very strong voice and delivers her vocals with absolute conviction. The music behind her is screaming to charge forward and take over, but somehow it knows it’s place and stays exactly where it needs to be. The result is a very well balanced artist with the right formula for music – energy, dynamics, honesty.

TASHI
Tashi is a new artist from Perth. She is part of the band “Hey Hurricane” and also has her own project, which is what I’ve featured in this episode. You can’t help but smile when you listen to her music, she’s got a flair for bringing out that warm feeling you get when you hear an artist who really loves what they do – and she does it very well. A very gifted song-writer, Tashi has a real passion for her music and you can tell she’s having a lot of fun creating it.

MIS DIVINE’S MUSIC CHALLENGE
There’s also a sad announcement in today’s episode. Mis Divine, who has been doing her amazing 400 day “A song a day” challenge has had to stop at 200 days. Due to circumstances that have recently presented themselves, she will no longer be able to continue with the challenge, but I’m sure you’ll all agree what an amazing achievement it has been to get to 200! That is incredible Mis Divine, I don’t think people can fully appreciate what a feat that is. 200 songs, one every single day, is more then some artists write in their entire lifetime. You’ve done a wonderful thing, and everyone of us is behind you saying CONGRATULATIONS! for doing such an amazing job with this challenge. I know we haven’t heard the last of you, in fact I suspect we’ve only scratched the surface of what you are going to do in the music industry, and I for one can’t wait to see what happens next! Good luck with the future, and you know you’ll always have a home on Close to Nowhere.
