Hello and welcome to the debut episode for ‘The wireless storytime extravaganza!”. A show that takes you back to the days of no television, where radio plays ruled the airwaves each night and families would gather round the wireless for an evening of entertainment. Well, this particular radio play isn’t really suitable for the whole family, given that it’s based on a very unsavoury character who I used to work for in a studio here in Perth, Western Australia. To respect the privacy of those involved I’ve changed their real names, but everything else is played VERY close to the real deal.
Garny, the head honcho of this fictional recording studio called Peleken Records, is based on my old boss, who was incredibly rude, egotistic and thought way too highly of himself and his abilities. His outlook on life and his role in it is played very closely to how he really was, even if it seems a bit far fetched at times – this is exactly how he was.
Anyway, I’ll let the story tell itself. So for now, sit back and relax – it’s time for THE WIRELESS STORYTIME EXTRAVAGANZA!!!!
