Close to Nowhere – Ep. 29

Greetings my little radio cherubs!  It’s that time again, another episode of Close to Nowhere is ripe for the picking.  This week I bring you TWO new artists, one from right here in Perth, Western Australia and another from the US!

The first artist up for grabs is local singer/song-writer Georgi Kay.  Georgi has such a unique vocal style and her music has such an engaging sound.  It would fit beautifully in a movie score with the way she so vividly paints her stories and guides you through her music.  It’s not often you come across an artist who can effortlessly convey their thoughts and feelings with such great ease, and you’re in no doubt as to her meaning.  She carries such confidence in her music and seems so at ease with being ‘in the song’ that you can’t imagine her doing anything else with her life but bring us this beautifully crafted, strangely familiar yet completely unique sound – a truely inspired artist that I’m thrilled to bring to you all.

You can find out more details on Georgi’s latest release “Strange Things” right here:

The second newest artist featured this week is Dogs and Bones.  Fresh from the US, Dogs and Bones don’t ask you to sit politely and listen to their nice little tunes, no – instead they smack you in the face and say “Listen to this!” – and I say Fuck yeah!  These guys ooze engergy from every pore and you can tell they’re loving what they’re doing.  There’s something so refreshing about discovering a band which just goes hell for leather with their music and you’re welcome to come along for the ride.  If you’re feeling pissed off because of something that happened at work or school, put Dogs and Bones on and let out all that aggression!

You can get all the info you need right here on this incredible band:

3. Roots girl – Simon Kelly

5. Breakfast in Bedlam – Georgi Kay
6. Seriously – Lynda Smyth
7. There’s no advice in this empty bottle of wine – Minute 36
8. Altercation in the Parkinglot – Terri Marie
9.( Sometimes) It’s better not to know – Dogs and Bones

That’s it for this week!  I’ll be back to do it all again next time.
