Close to Nowhere – Ep. 4

Episode Four – Featuring Brendan Gaspari

Howdy my little Kiddlywinks!  Thank you as always for listening to the show, and I hope you’ve been enjoying the music over the last few weeks.

Well this week I’ve got another feature artist!  This time, it’s an artist who appears on Folklore with his song ‘Small hands’.  His name is Brendan Gaspari, and this week his debut EP “Get through tonight” is being played.  You’ll also be treated to two live recordings of songs that don’t appear on the EP, and you’ll also hear from the man himself!

A big thank you to Ciaran Shields from Ireland who gave us last week’s Madman’s Mandolin Medley challenge.  The two songs ‘Medled” with were Angie by The Rolling Stones, and Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd.  Have a go at this week’s medley and if you think you know the two songs, write in to: madmansmandolin@hotmail.com

This week was also TEST TIME for Perth 101!  Yes I held the test for the weekly segment and if you’d like to participate, simply download this Test Paper -  Perth 101

Then, save your page as a .doc (NOT a .docx or anything similar) and send it to

  1. Every time I hear the song “Without You”, I like it even more. Great story telling in that song! And his song “Red Blanket” was beautiful.

While I am not a big fan of Christmas music, I must say I love his song “Christmas Eve”! The Christmas songs that are…. let’s say “nontraditional” are my favorite ones. ;)

I think I might have guessed the mandolin medley this time. I’ll have to wait and see.
